Contemporary red morocco gilt, spine separated by five raised bands, lettered in gilt directly to second compartment, other compartments with gilt flower tool and volute cornerpieces, covers with wide scalloped pelmet border consisting of several gilt rolls, single fillet on edges, gilt roll on turn-ins, and central oval armorial arms of the Duke of Orleans “Philippe d’Orleans-Egalite et Marie Louise de Bourbon-Penthievre”, g.e.

Preliminary blank with contemporary manuscript note, and portion of top margin excised, marbled endpapers, bookplate of J.M. Henry on front pastedown.
